An OpeninApp alternative, if what you have is an app-link problem

Two different people search for an OpeninApp alternative, and they want opposite things. One publishes affiliate and content links and wants them to open inside the right app. The other publishes one link that has to reach an app store. OpeninApp is built for the first; this page is honest about which of the two you are before it compares anything.

Which OpeninApp problem do you have?

OpeninApp describes itself as a link shortener and app opener, and its own surfaces say who it is for: 4 Mn+ Creators on the homepage, and a channel list of Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Amazon and Myntra. It is operated by Listed Dotfans Private Limited in Delhi. Every one of those channels is a place a creator publishes a content or affiliate link and wants it to open inside the destination’s own app rather than a browser tab.

That is a real problem and a well-shaped product for it. It is also not the same problem as this one:

I published one link. An iPhone should reach the App Store, an Android phone should reach Play, and a desktop should get something sensible — and none of that should break when the link is tapped inside Instagram.

If the sentence above is yours, the comparison below is worth reading. If you are opening YouTube or Amazon links in their native apps, it is not, and OpeninApp is the closer fit — nothing here will change that.

What is each product shaped for?

The rows that matter are the last three, and the last one is not a scoring point — it is a caution about this page’s own limits. We could not verify OpeninApp’s pricing from OpeninApp. /pricing, /plans and /price each returned 404 on the date above, and the homepage carries no figures. Directory sites quote numbers; we could not confirm them against the vendor, so they are not repeated here. If price is your deciding factor, ask them directly rather than trusting either of us.

Why does AppIn refuse arbitrary destinations?

It reads like a missing feature and it is the opposite of one. A link product that will point at anything is an open redirector, and open redirectors get their domain flagged — at which point every customer’s links start meeting an interstitial or a block page, including the ones that were never abused.

So an AppIn destination has to be a store listing or an allowlisted attribution link, every target is checked against Safe Browsing, and free accounts get a randomly assigned slug rather than one they choose. If you need one tool for every link your company publishes — affiliate links, campaign pages, PDFs — that constraint is disqualifying and you should not work around it. flyn.to is the comparison for that shape of need.

Which one survives Instagram’s in-app browser?

Both products exist partly because a link tapped inside Instagram or TikTok does not behave like a link tapped in Safari. Any tool in this category should be judged on it, and there is only one honest way to judge: publish the link on a real profile and tap it from inside the app on a real phone.

That is not a rhetorical suggestion. A desktop preview passes. The URL pasted into a mobile browser passes. Both of them pass while the real thing fails, which is exactly how the problem survives for months in accounts that are measuring everything else. What is actually failing in that hand-off explains why the usual fixes — shortening the URL, moving to a link-in-bio page, adding an attribution platform — do not touch it.

Do that test on whatever you pick, including this one.

Two things, and both come from being narrow rather than from being better.

Store-native campaign parameters. An AppIn link composes Apple’s campaign token ct alongside your provider token pt and the Play referrer carrying your UTM fields, so App Store Connect and Play Console report on the campaign themselves — with no SDK in your app. The mechanics are here, and the reason iOS and Android need different parameters is here.

A page built from your store listing. Icon, name and screenshots come from the listing you already maintain, so there is no design step between publishing a link and having something presentable behind it.

What AppIn does not do

Stated plainly, because a comparison that only lists wins is not a comparison.

  • No install attribution, no fingerprinting, no deferred deep linking. All three need an SDK inside your app, which is what this kind of product exists to avoid. If a referral flow has to credit a specific invite after an install, that job belongs on a measurement platform — and an AppIn link can point at that platform’s link rather than replacing it.
  • No general-purpose shortening, per the section above.
  • No creator-side app opening. Sending someone to a specific YouTube video or Amazon product inside those apps is not what an app-link tool does, and it is the thing OpeninApp is actually built for.

If you came here from a creator workflow, that last bullet is your answer and it is a genuine one. If you came here because your app’s bio link keeps landing people on a blank page, the rest of this site is about that.

Questions

Is AppIn an OpeninApp alternative?
Only for one of the two jobs OpeninApp is used for. If you are routing phones to an App Store or Play listing, yes. If you are a creator opening YouTube, Instagram or Amazon links inside their native apps, AppIn does not do that and OpeninApp is the closer fit.
What does OpeninApp cost?
We could not verify it from the source. OpeninApp publishes no pricing page — /pricing, /plans and /price all returned 404 when we checked on 10 September 2026, and the homepage lists no prices. Third-party directories quote figures we could not confirm against the vendor, so we do not repeat them here.
Does OpeninApp handle App Store links?
Its smart links route to native apps, and the App Store is one destination among many. The product's own positioning, channels and case studies are creator-facing — Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, Amazon and Myntra — rather than app-developer-facing.
What does AppIn refuse to do?
General-purpose URL shortening. A destination has to be a store listing or an allowlisted attribution link, because an open redirector is what gets a link domain blocked. It also does no install attribution, no fingerprinting and no deferred deep linking.
Which one survives Instagram's in-app browser?
Test whichever you pick by tapping it from a real profile inside the Instagram app on a real phone. A desktop preview and a link pasted into a browser both pass while the real thing fails, which is how this problem usually goes unnoticed.

Facts on this page were last checked on . Competitor pricing and platform behaviour both move; check theirs before deciding.

If the destination is a store listing

Paste your App Store or Play URL and publish the address you get back. Device routing, a page built from your store listing, and store-native campaign parameters.
