Comparison
An apppage alternative, compared on facts
apppage and AppIn both sell one job — a single link that sends phones to the right app store. The useful comparison is free tier, published price, store-native campaign parameters, and what each product refuses to be. This page is that comparison, checked against both sites.
Why compare these two at all?
Most “app link” tools are either full measurement platforms (SDK, contract, deferred deep linking) or general shorteners that never specialised in store hand-offs. apppage.co and AppIn both specialise: one URL, phone goes to App Store or Play, desktop gets a listing-built page. That is why a head-to-head is useful, and why comparing either of them to Bitly is not.
What is the one question that decides it?
Do you need a free plan you can use without a card? If yes, AppIn publishes one. If you already know you will pay for a small pack of links and care about extras apppage lists on its site (for example app-ads.txt hosting or legal generators, as they market them), read their pricing page side by side with ours and pick the row set you actually use.
The comparison
| apppage | AppIn | |
|---|---|---|
| Product category | App store links | App store links |
| Free tier | Paid entry on published plans (as read 2026-08-12) | Yes — 1 link, 1,000 clicks/month, no card to start |
| Paid entry | From $5/mo for a small pack (as published) | Starter $5/mo · Pro $15/mo |
| Store-native campaign params | Not positioned as a first-class differentiator on their marketing site | Apple ct/pt, Play referrer, composed on the link |
| In-app browser | Claims to handle it | Claims to handle it; measured on real devices — iOS 15 and later, and Android |
| Custom domain | Yes on higher plans | Yes on Pro |
| MMP / attribution | No | No — stack in front of an MMP if you need it |
| General URL shortener | No | No |
Prices and plan rows move. Check apppage pricing and our plans before you decide; the “as read” date is at the foot of this page.
Where apppage can be the better fit
If their published extras match a checklist you already have — and you do not care about a free tier — there is no reason to force a migration for ideology. A tool you already use that covers your link count is cheaper than a second account.
Where AppIn is ahead on paper
- A free tier that exists to try the product. One link is enough to put a real bio URL on a real profile and tap it from Instagram or TikTok.
- Store-native campaign parameters as a product line. If the report you care about is App Store Connect or Play Console, composed
ct/ptand Playreferrerare the difference between a campaign that appears there and one that does not. See App Store campaign parameters. - Explicit stacking with MMPs. AppsFlyer OneLink, Branch, Adjust and Singular link domains are accepted targets by name, so “put AppIn in front” is a supported setup — see AppsFlyer OneLink and Instagram.
What neither of us is
Neither product is a deferred deep-linking or install-attribution platform. Neither is a general shortener for arbitrary websites. If you need MMP-class attribution, buy an MMP; if you need every company URL in one dashboard, look at a link-management tool such as flyn.to — our flyn comparison explains that split.
How to choose in ten minutes
- Open both pricing pages and write down the plan that fits your link and click count.
- Publish one test link from each on a private profile.
- Tap both from Instagram (and TikTok if that is where you share) on a real phone.
- Check whether you need store console campaign rows; if yes, confirm who composes
ct/ptand Playreferrer.
Whichever link opens the store reliably and reports the campaigns you care about is the one to keep. The table above is context, not a substitute for that test.
Questions
- Is AppIn an apppage alternative?
- Yes if you need app-store routing without an MMP SDK. Both tools sit in that category. They differ on free tier, published pricing, and whether store-native campaign parameters are first-class.
- Does apppage have a free tier?
- As read on 2026-08-12, apppage.co’s published plans start at a paid entry for a small link pack. AppIn publishes a free plan with one link and one thousand clicks per month, without a card to create an account.
- Which tool handles Instagram’s in-app browser?
- Both claim to get past the in-app browser so a store hand-off can complete. Test either on a real profile and a real phone; do not trust a desktop preview for this.
- Does AppIn replace Branch or AppsFlyer?
- No. AppIn is a link, not an MMP. If you need install attribution, keep the MMP and put an AppIn link in front of it.
